Press Release for Unusual Faces in Unusual Places:

These eight art works, by New Jersey-based artist Mark McKinney, feature unusual approaches to portraiture; sometimes abstracted, sometimes surreal, and not traditional by any stretch. The works date from 1988 up through 2019, which shows McKinney's continued interest in alternative ways to paint the human condition. At times inspired by art history, you can see references to De Kooning, Picasso, and African Masks, but there are also unique expressions of figurative art purely from McKinney's imagination.
