9/11/20: I've lived in Belleville, NJ for about two years now, and recently happened upon a small and somewhat discreet 9/11 Memorial in the neighborhood while out for a walk. This memorial is located at Chestnut Street and Franklin Avenue in Belleville, NJ.

This was my first view of the 9/11 Memorial as seen from the edge of Franklin Avenue in Belleville. As you can see, the eye is first drawn to the flags, which on this particular day were flying at half mast. The two vertical steel beams - and their obvious meaning - came into focus as I moved in for a closer look.
You can see a better view of the two salvaged beams from the World Trade Center at the 9/11 Memorial in Belleville, below left. There is also a stone marker (seen below right) with the following engraved quote from President George W. Bush: "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings. But they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve."
Here's two more closer views at this 9/11 Memorial. From what I've gathered by reading accounts online, this park and memorial were set up completely by donations and evolved over time as the donations came in. Various reports also state that there were three 9/11 victims from Belleville: Antoinette Duger, Harry Ramos and Harvey J. Gardner III ... may they rest in peace.
