Two unusual artsy coats on the same day in NYC

artsy coats with funky fashion seen on the streets of NYC

I was walking around the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan last weekend, seeing art gallery shows, when I spotted some interesting fashion on the streets. As I was leaving Penn Station and walking on the outskirts of Hudson Yards on my way down to Chelsea, I spotted this guy’s interesting trench coat, below left, which depicts a man (with red skin and a white beard) perched above a group of hungry alligators. It’s kind of bugging me that the style of the red-faced man looks very familiar, like I’ve seen it either in some street art or in a gallery, but I can’t place it, or the artist. If anyone out there can identify this coat or the brand or artist who made it, please share in the comments section below.

I saw the next guy, below right, walking up 10th Avenue at the end of my afternoon gallery-hopping. I’m not sure if that figure is supposed to be an alien, or if it’s some sort of folk art, but it’s pretty funky and I like it. Again, if anyone out there can identify this coat or who made it, let me know!
