I just received a press release from Woolff Gallery in London, announcing their final solo show of 2022 featuring work by Patrick Boyd, an artist based in Wales. Boyd is an award-winning artist who works with an eclectic mix of photography, holography, art, science, and lenticular printing. In the case of the lenticular photographs, Boyd meticulously constructs these miniature, fictitious scenes in his studio and then takes multiple photographs of these scenes which he then uses to create photographic artwork with a 3-dimensional effect.
Pictured below are two images from the upcoming exhibition, titled “Model Behaviour,” which opens at Woolff Gallery on December 8th and runs through January 9th, 2023. Below left is “Village People,” a lenticular photographic print from an edition of 9; below right is “Prince,” also a lenticular photographic print from an edition of 9. If you are interested in either of these art works or want more information from the gallery, you can contact them here.
Patrick Boyd has an MA in Photography and Holography from the Royal College of Art, London, and was a Fellow in Media Arts at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for a year-long artist residency at the Museum of Holography in New York and has created multiple projects through the HoloCenter Pulse Laser Holography program. His solo exhibitions include Butler Museum of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, USA; Royal College of Art – Link Gallery, London, UK and Art House, Takasaki and Neuse Gallery, Maiebashi, Gunma-ken, Japan.
