Architectural wonder: swimming at 650 feet

I was reading a story about skyscrapers, and the article had a photo of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, which is quite striking with three 56-story towers and a 57th floor which includes a skypark and an infinity pool. Designed by Moshe Safdie and his firm, Safdie Architects, you have to check out their website to fully take in the amazing aspects of this architectural wonder.

But it’s the idea of swimming in a pool 650 feet – and going to the edge of an infinity pool at that height – that seems mind-blowing. Check out these pictures below that show people apparently right at the edge with a view of Singapore in front of them. Wouldn’t you need nerves of steel to be able to go up to the edge like that? I would, but then I saw another view (far right, below), which does show that there’s an overflow area and space from the edge of the pool to the actual edge of the skypark, but it’s still quite spectacular, without any doubt!
