Interview with art dealer and collector Otto Naumann

I happened upon this video interview with art dealer, art historian, and art collector Otto Naumann, and I found a couple things about it very interesting. One, that an art professor and scholar would open a gallery in New York in 1982 and somehow develop an inventory of Old Master paintings … I would just assume that would be a very hard area of collecting and dealing to enter at any time in the late 20th Century. The other thing that I really like – seen at the 1:20 mark of the video – is Naumann discussing his decision to collect unfinished works of art. There’s several examples shown and in some ways they seem more interesting in this state than if they were finished! Watch the video here:
