Happy July 4th with some Uncle Sam Street Art

We hope you’re enjoying your Independence Day … in honor of July 4th, here’s some Uncle Sam street art: at left, a detail from a street art piece in San Francisco, with a depiction of the famous “I Want You for U.S. Army” poster while a group of soldiers march off. And on the right, a mysterious street art piece seen in Troy, NY, with Uncle Sam arriving (? Or leaving?) in a movie theater as the credits read “Fin,” which is French for “end.” On a side note, Troy, New York was the home town of Samuel Wilson, a meat packer who served in the Revolutionary War as a 14 year old, and was supposedly later the inspiration for the character of Uncle Sam.
