Still life for the real estate photo

If you saw my last post on real estate photos, then you’ll know I’ve been looking at a lot of properties online lately. There’s no way I can top the interiors of the last post, but I did see something else that struck me as funny (or odd) today. Check out this blue kitchen, below left, with blue candlesticks and a bowl of lemons. Who has bowls of lemons sitting on their kitchen table every day? Maybe the person who staged the photos has an art history background? Maybe they were inspired by Henri Matisse’s 1943 painting “Still Life with Lemons,” as seen below right.

Here’s another art work that could have served as inspiration: Francisco de Zurbarán’s 1633 painting titled “Still Life with Lemons, Oranges and a Rose.” I like this painting, but it’s missing the blue candlesticks … just kidding.
