New York City as geometric art due to a Google Maps glitch

I’ve been obsessed this morning with exploring New York City via Google maps, street view, and aerial views, when suddenly – as I was looking to see if I could find the vantage point that Saul Steinberg used for his famous “View of the World from 9th Avenue” – my computer screen went black and this appeared:

NYC as a geometric art work according to Google maps

I’m sure it was just some sort of rendering glitch within the Google maps software, but I thought it was pretty cool how New York City was reduced to a geometric art work slightly resembling the Millennium Falcon on my computer screen. I’m sure I couldn’t duplicate this if I tried, so I’m glad I got the screen shot before it went away.
