Mystery Rooftop Man in Nashville

I was in the process of posting an image from a recent trip to Nashville to our Artsology Instagram account, and I went online to confirm the address and location of the street art mural (seen below, on the exterior of Legends’ Corner on Broadway). As I was doing so, looking around the area in Google Street View, I noticed this solitary man on top of a lavender-colored building, positioned between the Ryman Auditorium at left (known as the “Mother Church of Country Music”) and the AT&T Building at right (nicknamed the “Batman Building”). What’s he doing up there all by himself? He appears to have his arms calmly resting at his sides, merely staring off into the distance. I’d love to learn the explanation behind this bizarre happenstance! It almost qualifies as an honorary Joel Sternfeld photograph.
