Amy Arbus recreating Modigliani’s portrait of Jeanne Hebuterne

Last summer when I was in Provincetown, I saw an art gallery show featuring photographs by Amy Arbus, daughter of famous photographer Diane Arbus. All of the works in the show were based on famous art historical paintings, and in this case she’s found a sitter to appear as Modigliani’s portrait of Jeanne Hebuterne, below left, painted in 1917. To see more of this body of work, check out Amy Arbus’ website here … the Picassos are really good too.
