The Long and Short of Footwear

I don’t think these people got their shoes at the same shoe store … at left, shoes on a sculptural figure at the Cloister Museum in NYC; at right, some 19th century shoes worn by a Chinese woman whose feet were bound, an ancient tradition that was banned in the early 20th Century. These shoes were seen at the Lambert Castle in Paterson, NJ.
